Patients with Lyme disease and associated co-infections often come in with GI complaints. They may have several overlapping etiologies which are responsible for these symptoms. I just posted a new blog on Mind Body Green on five signs that you have an undiagnosed food allergy or sensitivity. Chapters 15 and 16 in my book on Lyme and allergies, and Lyme and gastrointestinal health discusses this approach in detail.

A newly published scientific study showed that tetracycline antibiotics have been shown to be effective in schizophrenia, yet infections were not mentioned as a possible contributing etiology. I discuss in Psychology Today the protean psychological/psychiatric manifestations of Lyme and co-infections, and how they can mimic a broad range of psychiatric conditions.

I just did a blog for MindBodyGreen. It discusses six clinical signs that indicate when your aches and pains could be due to Lyme disease. Please consider sharing this with your friends and family to educate them about the signs and symptoms of Lyme and tick-borne disorders. This may help them to avoid the kind of suffering that I hear from patients every day, who oftentimes have gone to multiple health care providers without finding an answer for their symptoms.
